“I’d move to Los Angeles if New Zealand and Australia were swallowed up by a tidal wave, if there was a bubonic plague in England and if the continent of Africa disappeared from some Martian attack.”
Russell Crowe
As Roomy announced in his “Where Am I?” post earlier, I’m off, leaving the country, splitting the joint. I’m moving to Los Angeles, or Cowboy Town, according to Vic Reeves. I know it’s not fashionable to like L.A, but like it I do, even if I am older than the average building there.
Anyway, yes the music posts may dry up over the coming weeks, but just to show that I care about you, dear Roomyverse reader, here’s the Decemberists and their brilliantly sarcastic tribute to the city – Los Angeles I’m Yours.
I love LA too, but if I can give you one tip, it would be don’t let Franklin play Little League. I am still scarred by the conversation I overheard in my local cafe on the Boardwalk, where a woman was telling another woman proudly that Elton John always came to see her son’s Little League games when he was in town. Was he a relative of someone? inquired the colleague. No, he just enjoyed watching the game, she answered.
Ok, no little league. Whatever that is.
